Causeway Geotech Training Day

Last week, Causeway Geotech ran a training day for nine of our recent engineering recruits and student placements.

Unperturbed by the rain, Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Stuart Abraham, kicked things off in the morning by demonstrating a suite of site skills ranging from groundwater and gas monitoring to dynamic cone penetrometer tests and plate load tests.

After lunch, Associate Geologist, Matthew Gilbert, presented a detailed course on soil and rock descriptions, using our own collection of reference samples. Already, some of the new engineers have been helping with reports and core logging, while others have been gaining on-site experience by shadowing more seasoned Site Engineers. Onwards and upwards!
